Reservation of seats

As we all know, there are some seats reserved for the deprived section of society in each and every sector- be it job or education. However, the question is should there be ‘reservation of seats’ for them in professional courses.

In my opinion, it is no. Professional courses like medical and engineering or law, all are merit based fields. These educational branches solely test a student’s skills and knowledge. For medical courses a person’s skill and his talent is the most essential thing required as lives of millions of people are involved here.

So in these cases, everyone should be given equal opportunity and reservation should be prohibited. Also as the Indian Constitution suggests that everyone has the right to equality and all are equal before law, I think this should be done in professional courses also and reservation of seats should be removed.
