Poverty is a vast topic to be debated on , but yes India has the largest number of poor people in the world though it ranks 7th in the world's wealthiest country . This is the biggest irony for India . There are 3 types of poor people , 1. the ones who constantly stay below the poverty line , for eg landless farmers , rickshaw pullers etc 2. who frequently move in and out of poverty for eg sesional workers , gamblers etc and 3. who are above the poverty line but are given the tag of lower middle class . Population is the biggest reason behind poverty unless controlled
