Debate: women empowerment is a reality or not:

In the mid-20th century the political use of "empowerment" in the language of progress took shape as a way of undermining the public's power structures. It's used widely in all sectors (including companies) since the mid-1990s, generating the nuance of a cliché. In the same rhetoric, the debate on empowerment of women has intensified in order that power relations for women are transformed. Although politicians, analysts and scholars have often used the word ' women's empowerment,' little is understood about how it is accomplished.

In 1931, Mahatma Gandhi declared at the Second Round-Table Conference that his goal was to create a political society in India where women had the same rights as men, with millions of India being guaranteed equality and justice which would be social, economic and political. But now, even after the Father of our Nation's 83 years of assertion-are women truly empowered-can we ask ourselves again the same question. The reply is... YES! This seems to be the question of the decade as this decade saw the rise of many women and the fight for equality. Since the dark ages, women have been considered as a retarded race of the society, left at the mercy of the male members of the family. But it’s the thing of the past. Like after a long night, a bright dusk awaits, we have entered into a modern era. Women Empowerment is getting a reality!

This seems to be a decade-long issue, with the decade of many women rising and the fight for equality seemed to dim in the face of the newly empowered women citizens of our state, nation, and family. Females have since dark ages been treated as a slow race in society, left to men at home. It's the previous thing, though. We've entered a modern era like a long night, a bright dawn is waiting for us. Women's empowerment is realized!

The first point I am going to make is that now, compared to many years ago, there are very fewer cases of household abuse, death by dowries or other old practices such as "Sati." Another explanation is that the law provides for several new provisions. Social reformers and missionaries in India have been working for about two centuries to bring women out of the confines of centuries of traditions. So far, 26 legislation to protect women from various crimes has been introduced. The recent law' protecting women from domestic violence' addresses the long-awaited demand for women's activities. The other explanation could be that their political, economic and health knowledge could be increased significantly. You now learn about support groups and positive attitudes to life. Now they have knowledge about positive attitude and support groups towards life. They are aware about the risk prevailing at work place, at home, while staying outside home, and while travelling.

Women lead a happier life now than before. If the marriage doesn't work well, they don't compromise. They are self-sufficient in better health than in previous decades. Women are increasingly entering the labor market now. Even in the non-traditional fields of security, protection, administration, media and science, they demonstrate their skills. There are many opportunities for women in different fields because of the society's reservations and openness. Today, the enrolment of women in schools, colleges and even in technical institutions is constantly improving. The 2001 census found that of women's literacy in the country was 54% compared with 9% in the year 1951.

The women's reservations are an important step towards their political participation in the political field. When 33% of women's reservations become a reality in parliament, women's voices are heard in the brightest democracy forum. Women today have developed into leaders in a wide variety of fields, whether aeronautical, medical, spatial, engineering, law, politics, education, business etc. You name the occupation and they are there. In short, women must be encouraged to help them be in the spotlight. The empowerment of women is a prerequisite for transforming a developing country into a developed country, and it has already been done; and with a success too, although with few now, but this will soon turn into many.
