debate writing on do indian deserve democracy

Explanation:
There are two categories of Indians who hate democracy.
The first category is the Boomer generation- who were born in the 1950s and 1960’s, who grew up during the era of nationalization and autocracy and attained the peak of their career in 1970s and 1980, and retired by 1990s before the liberalization. My grandfather is a typical example of this- he is a great supporter of Indira’s Emergency. He worked as a manager in UCO Bank of Chennai, and he says that bank employees came to office on time, buses ran on time. He is a stickler for punctuality and he says Emergency was one of the greatest times to have lived in.
The second category is the Y2K generation, who were born after 2000. These kids would be 18–21 years old today, probably in their college. College time is when they start having “revolutionary” ideas of changing the system which is “screwed”. These are your typical college kids who espouse Communism. As they grow up, start earning and paying taxes, they would realize how wrong they were.
The first category of Indians are a minority today. The second category would soon realize their foolhardiness.
The ones who support democracy are those who were born in 1980s and 1990s, typically the time when India was in the darkest ages and coming out of poverty. Your truly falls in this category..:)

Do Indians really deserve a democracy?
There are two categories of Indians who hate democracy.

Look at the below graph of GDP growth of major countries in the past 3 centuries
You can see the countries which have had their best growth - USA, UK, Japan, Germany - during the period post 1950’s- when most of the world was starting to come out of colonialism and embrace democracy and free-markets. All these countries are examples of free markets + Democracy.
China and India are ranking on the bottom of the pile because they choose only one out of free-markets and democracy. India chose democracy and socialism, China choose autocracy and capitalism.
Explanation:
This is a very complex question.
I often see many elderly people and even young people ranting about how democracy is bad for India. Well, the fact is they are actually crying about the system of India that acts as a barrier to development.
The majority of people compare India with China and draw inferences between democracy and dictatorship. They think China has transformed into a huge country only due to their highly authoritarian government.
But many people don't look beyond the reality that it's China’s top brass leadership and a robust system that has transformed the country. There are many authoritarian regimes in the world, why didn't they become developed?
The fault does not lie in democracy, dictatorship and authoritarian regimes, they are just mere ideologies.
The fault lies in the leadership, people and systems which are built under the shadow of these ideologies.
And Indians are also crying about the same but end up blaming the wrong thing every time.
So what do we need?
We absolutely don't need a dictatorship to become a developed country. At present time, we need massive reforms in our system, only that could address our problems.
Try to look in this way, US, UK, China, France, Germany and Japan have all created their own indigenous systems under the ideology of democracy for their countries.
In the same manner, the onus lies on India to make the system more indigenous through reforming the existing one.
