• Jugi is a low caste. People belonging to this caste lived in Bengal and Tripura.

• However, now a days its status has been changed it is now associated with the Brahmin caste. The new surname for this caste is Rudraja-brahmin.

• But a true Brahmin is considered one who is noble by action not by birth.

Answer: Yes, they are Brahmin. I had a friend during my MBBS whose surname was Debnath, he was from the general category and a Brahmin. But as I always say, caste doesn't matter. Say no to casteism
