Mithali Raj is currently the ''captain'' of the 'Indian Women's Cricket' team, a proud icon of the country, and Padma and Arjuna awardee. She now holds the record of highest run-taker in woman's international cricket and many other records.

She made her ''ODI debut'' in June '1999' against 'Ireland' at Milton Keynes and scored a record 114 and unbeaten. She made her ''test debut'' in Lucknow during the '2001-2002' season against 'South Africa'. During her ODI debut, she was just 16 and scored a century. However, she had a contrasting test debut without scoring.

The debut of Mithali Raj, the Indian cricket icon, rolled out in the year 1999 which was a One Day International Match against "Ireland" which took place at Milton Keynes. It was a firecracker debut with her scoring an impressive unbeaten record of 114 runs.

The test season of 2001-2002 marked her test debut against "South Africa" at "Lucknow". A batting thunder, Mithali was a run machine in every match she played. Right in her third match, she beat the World record of the "highest run scorer" in women's cricket of 209 runs and scored 214 runs.

Her deep passion for cricket made her become the highest run-scorer in women's cricket worldwide and also the captain of the "Indian women's cricket team".
