Answer:

ANSWER

2m2−5m=0

given values of m=2,25

when m=2→2(22)−5(2)=8−10=−2 does not satisfy the equation.

when x=25→2(25)2−5(25)=225−225=0satisfies the equation.

Therefore m=25 is only the root of given equation.

Answer :-

  • It's a quadratic equation.

Given :-

  • An equation (m + 2) (m - 5) = 0

To Find :-

  • Whether it is a quadratic equation or not.

Solution :-

⇒ (m + 2) (m - 5) = 0

⇒ m(m) + 2m) - m(5) - 2(5)

⇒ m² + 2m - 5m - 10

⇒ m² - 3m - 10

Hence, it is a quadratic equation.

Extra Shots :-

  • Standard form of quadratic equation is ax² + bx + c = 0
  • Quadratic formula = { - b ± √ (b² - 4ac) }/ 2a
