SOLUTION

TO CHECK

Whether x=1 , -2 , -3 are the solutions of a quadratic equation

CONCEPT TO BE IMPLEMENTED

POLYNOMIAL :

Polynomial is a mathematical expression consisting of variables, constants that can be combined using mathematical operations addition, subtraction, multiplication and whole number exponentiation of variables

DEGREE OF A POLYNOMIAL :

Degree of a polynomial is defined as the highest power of its variable that appears with nonzero coefficient

EVALUATION

QUADRATIC EQUATION :

Here the term QUAD means 2

If the highest power of the variable ( say x ) of an equation in single variable is 2 , then that equation is called a Quadratic Equation

GENERAL FORM :

The general form of a quadratic equation is

 \sf{a {x}^{2}  + bx + c = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: where \:  \: a \ne \: 0}

From above it is clear that A quadratic equation has exactly two roots. It can't have more than 2 roots

Hence x= 1 , -2 , -3 can not be the solutions of a quadratic equation
