Step-by-step explanation:

1) 1 cake = 4 cups of flour

1 x 0.5 cake = 4 x 0.5 cups of flour

0.5 cake = 2 cups of flour

2) friends = 2

candy each get = 0.1 pound

total candy = no. of friends x candy

= 2 x o.1

=0.2 total candy

3)pages read in one minute =3.40

time given =3.22 minutes

pages read in 3.22 minute = 3.40 x 3.22

=10.948 pages in 3.22 minutes

4)total weight =3.3 kg

percentage of A = 0.1 % of total weight

weight of A = 0.1 % of 3.3 kg

= 0.1% x 3.3

= 1 ÷ 1000 x 3.3

= 3.3 x 10 raised to power -3

5)collection of friend =0.87

collection of janet = 4 times of her friend

= 4 x 0.87 =3.48

6) car wash used each day =4.70 liters

soup used in 2 days = 4.70 x 2

= 9.4 liters
