Unlike USA, Indian prime minister has all the powers related to the operations of the government.

In India the prime minister act as a chief advisor to the president and Prime minister also head the council of ministers whereas a president work under prime minister and welcome foreign dignitaries and also known as chief public representative of the country.

In state of emergency President took all the powers.
