Answer:

Any decision should be made with a cool and rational mind and this is beautifully portrayed in the Kannada folktale 'The Kingdom of Fools'. The story shows us how a decision has to be contemplated on considering both the benefits and the risks. The story also shows us the importance of making the right decision at the right time. These values can be seen in the text as after seeing the foolish decisions the king and minister decided to make just to be different from the other kingdoms like changing of the activities of the night and day and also charging one duddu for anything the people buy, the guru considered leaving the kingdom eventhough life could be led easily here. The guru told the disciple that it is better to leave the kingdom as this was the kingdom of fools and their actions cannot be predicted and one cannot say what they will do to you. By doing so the guru had made a rational decision by condering the different possibilities. But even after hearing the guru's words of wisdom the disciple decided to stay in the village as he was a foodie and was delighted by the low cost of food, but this irrational decision had almost cost him his life if the guru hadn't come to save him. Through this textual evidence with confidence we can say that a decision should be made with a cool and rational mind.
