Declaration of independence was an official statement proposed by Thomas Jefferson due to which 13 different colonies in America got freedom from Great Britain.
On July 4, 1776 the second continental congress adopted this document which became popular as the declaration of independence.
It was a clear and concise summary of the goals which would be pursued after attaining independence.
