Decomposition Reaction

The breaking of a compound into two or more simpler substances is called decomposition reaction.

How do it occur?

Since we know that any reaction occurs when some amount of energy like heat, electricity etc is provided to atoms to react at atomic level. Hence these reactions need some energy to break or to combine.

What such reactions are called?

The reactions that need energy to combine/break are called endothermic reaction. While reactions that produce heat as product are called exothermic reaction.

Answer

Since decomposition reactions need heay to break down hence these reactions are called endothermic reaction.

Option (D) None
