decomposition of vegetables is an exothermic process

Ireallydontknow: bacteria use acidic stuff to break down bonds in carbohydrates in veggies
so bond energy is released and its given off as heat
so its exothermic. that's why we keep stuff in a refrigerator to stop bacteria from decomposing them

It is an exothermic reaction as heat is given off when the bonds of the vegetable break. That is why a compost pit feels warm.
