1.It was not an easy task to frame constitution for a large and diverse country like India.
2.People of India were emerging from the status of slaves to that of the citizens. 3.The country was divided on the ground of religion
4.British had left it to Indian rulers to decide whether to go with India or Pakistan or be an Indipendent state.
5.India had a diverse population so it wasn't easy to bring the rule that favours all community.

1) The making of a constitution for a huge and diverse country like India was not an easy task.

2) At that time India was emerging from the status of subjects to that of citizens

3) India was going through a partition based on religious differences. This was a traumatic experience for both the people of India and Pakistan.

4) Atleast 10 lakh people were killed in the border in partition related violence  

5) The British had left it with the princely states to decide whether they wanted to merge with  India or Pakistan or remain independent The merger of these princely states remained a difficult task.
