1.They demanded that equal importance be given in acquiring government jobs.
2.They should be given equal opportunities for seats in universities and schools.
3.Equal political opportunities and rights for Tamils.
4Tamil should also be recognised as the official language of the country.
Struggle of Tamils.
Several political organization were formed demanding an independent Tamil state in northern and eastern part of Sri Lanka.
The indifference of Govt to Tamil problem and concerns the conflict widened .
It soon turned into a civil war with LTTE leading the Tamil concerns.
