Deduce an expression for g for a body falling freely under earth's gravity. Hence show that the value of g is independent of the mass of the falling body.

A body of mass m falling under the influence of gravity has a force given as

f=GMm/R^2

Here, M is the mass of Earth and R is the radius of Earth.

Also this force is the weight of the body which is given as

f=m×g

Thus, we get

m×g=GMm/R^2

g=GM/R^2

Thus, g is independent of mass of the falling body
