deduce the expression for the equivalent resistance for the series combination of 2 resistances R1 and R2 . (please explain briefly )​

The Resistors connected in Series Combination always gets added up.

So, If two resistors r1 and r2 are connected in series combination,

Therefore, the equivalent resistance becomes

r_{eq}  =  r_{1} +  r_{2}

Similarly if Rn resistors(of same resistance) are connected in series then the Equivalent resistance becomes -

Req = (R+R+.....+n times) = n.R.
