Given: 8 gram magnesium oxide.

To find: We have to find the number of molecules.

Solution:

The chemical formula of magnesium oxide is MgO.

Number of moles is a ratio of mass to molecular mass.

Molecular mass of Magnesium oxide(MgO) is 24+16=40.

So, number of moles of Magnesium oxide will be-

 \frac{8}{40} = \frac{1}{5} \\ = 0.2

1 mole of magnesium oxide contains 6.023×10^{23} number of molecules.

0.2 mole of magnesium oxide contains 6.023×10^{23}×0.2=1.2×10^{23} number of molecules.

Thus there are 1.2×10^{23} number of molecules present in 8 gram of magnesium oxide.
