Dee Septor, the famous magician, claims that when he is in the far north, he can point his car north on an ordinary road, drive it for one mile, and without turning around, end up one mile south of where he started. How does he do it?

He drives in reverse - so even though the car is pointing north he is actually travelling south

Dee Septor is very close (say only 10 meters) to the North Pole of the Earth. Then he drives North and continues on.. But actually after crossing the North pole, he is driving South. He ends up 1 mile South as well as a lot of distance towards East or West too.
