The purpose of Deepak’s smile on the two occasions is not the same. In the first instance, Deepak had smiled to win Arun’s trust and to get into his house and stay with him so that he could rob him at the slightest opportunity. In the second instance, Deepak had reformed himself and had returned the money that he had stolen from Arun.

Arun was a new student to send Paul's institution, he made new friends in the institution but often was treated like a new boy in the class not everybody in his class liked Arun because he was quite a bright student and was also good at sports and Co-curricular activities.
- It so happened one day that Deepak a classmate of Arun decided to conduct a friendly football match.
- All the boys including Arun we're ready to play the match but Deepak had something else going in his mind he had the intention to prove that Arun was not the smartest in class hence he was smoking at him in the beginning.
- Towards the end of the match when he purposely had kicked a run gave the same kind of smile hence proving that it was a very sarcastic and suspicious smile.
