kharif crops:-
1) kharif crops are down between April and May.
2) harvested after monsoon rain.
3) they are known as monsoon crops.
4) crops are dependent on rain.
5) eg:- rice, sugarcane, soyabean etc.

Rabi crops:-
1) Rabi crops are down between September and October.
2) harvested after winter.
3) they are known as winter crops.
4) crops require irrigation.
5) eg:- wheat, gram, pea etc.

★ Kharif crop season :

→ This season starts in June and ends in early November

→ Crops depend on southwest monsoon rain.

→ Paddy, maize, cotton ,millets ,June and sugarcane are grown during this season.

★ Rabi crop season :

→ This season starts in November and ends in March.

→ Crops depend on Northern monsoon rain or perennial water source.

→ Wheat, tobacco, mustard ,pulses ,linseed grains are grown during this season .
