The base of political science is the study of power with out ANY consideration for any religion or any moral judgement. Political power means the capacity of imposing your will to the others, at the extreme, by the use of violence.

Please note that western tradition (Such means Roman and Latin tradition) considers, at least, two more type of power: Economical power and Ideological power. Religion is ideological power. Some people DO NOT separate such type of powers and completely misunderstand modern reality.
