Hi

The variants of a population i.e differences in height, color etc between individuals / siblings etc is variations.
Evolution is when the whole population slowly acquires/leaves traits. Example the whole human species lost its tail in the course of evolution. Its a really slow but consistent process.

Variation, in biology, any difference between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species caused either by genetic differences (genotypic variation) or by the effect of environmental factors on the expression of the genetic potentials (phenotypic variation).

Evolution is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to biodiversity at every level of biological organisation, including the levels of species, individual organisms, and molecules.

Hope it helps
