TROPICAL CYCLONES ::  A tropical cyclone is a warm-core system that has a warm, humid, tropical airmass throughout the entire storm. EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONES::   An extratropical cyclone, on the other hand, features a process called "temperature advection."
