• Diffusion in gases are very fast because the particles in gas travel with high speeds . However different gases diffuse at different rates . Lighter gases diffuse faster than heavier ones .
• Diffusion of liquids in liquids and of solids in liquids are relatively much slower .
• Diffusion of a solid substance into another solid under normal conditions is extremely slow ( almost negligible )
• Diffusion gets faster when temperature is raised .
