maybe because of the absence of chlorophyll and when the plant is a non green one

Yellowing of the edges of leaves is a cause of lack of iron, perhaps yellowing may also be a result of deficiency of manganese, zinc, or nitrogen in a plant too.

But Still General cause is deficiency of Iron only.
