Myopia is a condition in which, opposite ofhyperopia, an image of a distant object becomes focused in front of the retina, making distant objects appear out of focus.
Invertebrates are animals that neither possess nor develop a vertebral column, derived from the notochord. This includes all animals apart from the subphylum Vertebrata. Familiar examples of invertebrates include arthropods, mollusks, annelids, and cnidarians.

→There are 3 Defects of eye:
- Myopia: It occurs when the eyeball is too long, relative to the focusing power of the cornea and lens of the eye. This causes light rays to focus at a point in front of the retina, rather than directly on its surface.
- Hypermetropia: It occurs when the eye in which light is focused behind, instead of on, the retina. This results in close objects appearing blurry, while far objects may appear normal. As the condition worsens, objects at all distances may be blurry.
- Astigmatism: It occurs when the cornea (the clear front cover of the eye) is irregularly shaped or sometimes because of the curvature of the lens inside the eye.
Invertebrates are the animals apart from the subphylum Vertebrata.
