The movement of particles from high concentration to lower concentration is known as diffusion.It is most common in gases.
Osmosis is a special kind of diffusion in which particles move inversely. It is most common in Raisins....

hey!!

here is ur answer!!
===================================================

DIFFUSION :

Diffusion is the free movement of molecules of a substance ( solute or solvent gas,liquid) from the region of their higher concentration to the region of their lower concentration when the two are in direct contact.

1)Liquids and gases can diffuse over considerable distances.

2)Movement of the molecules of solute or solvent.

3)Rapid in gases,but slow in solution.

4)Transport from high to low concentration along a gradient .

5)Occurs with or without a non-living permeable membrane.

OSMOSIS :

Osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules across a semi-permeable membrane from more dilute solution (with lower solute concentration) to a less dilute solution (with a higher solute concentration)..

1)Water only transported over a short didtance.

2)Movement  of the ,molecules of only water as a solvent.

3)Slow process.

4)Transport of water from a solution of low conc. to that of a high conc.

5)Either a living or non-living semi-permeable membrane needed.
