An acid is a substance with particular chemical properties including turning litmus red, neutralizing alkalis (soluble bases) and dissolving since metals ; typically, a corrosive or sour-tasting liquid of this kind.

It's pH range is 1 to 7.
Examples : HCl (Hydrochloric acid), H2SO4 (Sulphuric acid), etc
