Nucleus is a spherical or oval shaped, darkly stained structure. It lies usually in the centre of animal cell and is placed to periphery in plant cells. It was discovered by Robert brown in 1831. Generally, there is one nucleus per cell, but binucleate and multinuclate cells are also present.
