1. Olfactory indicators : Substances whose odour changes in acidic or basic solutions are called Olfactory indicators. An Olfactory indicator works on the principle that when an acid or base is added to it, then it's odour ( smell) cannot be detected. Eg. Onion and clove extract, Eucalyptus oil.
2. pH - pH is a number which indicates the acidic or basic number of a solution. It's helps I measuring hydrogen Ion concentration in solutions.
3. Water of Crystallization : Water of Crystallization is fixed number of water molecules present in the crystal structure. Eg. Hydrated copper sulphate.
4. Saponification : The alkane hydrolysis of an oil or fat resulting In the formation of sodium or potassium salt of carboxylic acid (soap) is called Saponification.
5. Electromagnetic induction : The process by which a changing magnetic field in a conductor induces a current in another conductor is called Electromagnetic induction.
6. Power of accommodation of eye : The ability of the eye lens of adjusting its focal length is called the power of accommodation of eye.
7. Laws of refraction of light :
1. The incident ray and the refracted ray are on the opposite sides of the Normal at the point of incidence and all three lie in the same plane.
2. For a given pair of media, the ratio of the sine of the angel of refraction is constant. This is called refractive index of the second medium with respect to the first.
8. Pollutant : Contamination of natural environment that can harm fully affect the environment is called pollutant.
9. Eutrophication : The enrichment of the water bodies by inorganic plant nutrients like nitrate and phosphate, etc. occurring either naturally or due to the human activity is called Eutrophication.
Hope this helped you.
