1) Saprotrophic nutrition:

The mode of nutrition in which organisms feed on dead and decaying matter. Example fungi. In saprotrophic mode of nutrition, the vital nutrients required for their body are collected from dead and decaying matter. The other organisms which are saprotrophic is Rhizopus, Yeast, and Mushroom.

2) Parasitic nutrition:

Parasitic nutrition is a type of nutrition in which the organisms live on or inside the body of their host and derive their food from them. The organism which obtains the food is called a parasite and the organism from whose body food is obtained is called the host parasite usually harms the host. Parasitic mode of nutrition is seen in several fungi, bacteria, a few plants like cuscuta and animals like plasmodium.

3) Holozoic nutrition:

Holozoic nutrition is a method of nutrition that involves the ingestion of liquid or solid organic material, digestion, absorption and assimilation of it to utilize it. It includes taking in the complex substances and converting them into simpler forms. Example, proteins can be broken into amino acids.
