Answer:

If \(1 \ joule\) work is done to move a unit positive charge from one point to another point is known as \(1\ volt\).

\(1\ volt=\frac{1\ joule}{1\ coulomb}\)

Given, voltage \(V=3\ V\)

charge \(Q=1\ coulomb\)

We know that,

Energy consumption \(=\) work done

\(\therefore W=Q\times V\)

\(W=1\times 3\)

\(W=3\ J\)

Hence, the amount of energy consumption is \(3\ J\).

Answer:

When 1 joule of work is done in carrying 1 coulomb of charge, from infinity to a point in the electric field, then potential at that point is called 1 volt. Potential difference between two points is

V = W/Q or

W = Q x v = 1 x 3 = 3 J
