WHAT IS VOLT?

VOLT Is the unit of Potential Difference.

WHAT IS POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE ?

Potential difference is the Difference in electric potential at any two point which leads to flow of electeons.

FORMULA :-

Potential Difference = Workdone/Charge moved

V = W/Q

NOW WE WILL DEFINE ONE VOLT :-

When one joule of work is done by moving one coulomb of charge the potential difference is said to be one volt.

WHAT IS WORK DONE AND COULOMB?

Workdone can be defined as the Electrical energy of that body because

Electrical energy=workdone =power x time

It is the energy consumed for moving a unit if charge.

Coulomb is the unit of electric charge of an body.

It is total charge of an electric body.

Coulomb = charge of one electron x no. of electrons

SOME IMPORTANT FACTS OF VOLT :-

1. Voltage is constant in parralel connection.

2.According to Ohm's law Volt = Current x resistance

3.Voltage is directly propertional to current.

4.Volt is very useful for movement of current through a circuit.

5.Voltmeter is used for measuring voltage .

220v is normal voltafe for domestic circuits.

Answer:

Definitions of volt —

Potential difference across a resistance of 1 Ohm when current of 1 Amp passes through it.

Potential difference betwe two parallel infinite conducting plates 1 meter apart, that create a field of 1 newton per coulomb.

Potential difference between two points on a a conductor that impart energy of 1 Joule per Coulomb of charge that passes through it every second.

Potential difference that produces 1 watt of power when a current of 1 Amp passes through it.
