Dear, friends :)
❑ Convex lens
: A lens that possesses at least one surface that is curved outward is known as a convex lens. If both the surfaces of the lens are curved outward, it is known as a biconvex lens. The image formed by a convex lens will be real and inverted, except when the object is between the focus and the optical center. When the object is between the focus and the optical center, the image formed will be virtual and erect.
❍ Uses: Telescopes, spectacles, microscopes etc.
Applications of convex lens are :
1. In spectacles for eyes suffering from hypermetropia.
2. In the lens combination of camera, telescope, microscope
3. It is also used as a magnifying lens
Applications of convex mirror are :
1.Convex mirrors are used as rear view mirrors in vehicles because convex mirrors increase field of view.
2. Convex mirrors are used as streetlight reflectors as they spread light over greater area.
❑ Concave lens
: A lens that possesses at least one surface that is curved inward is known as a concave lens. If both the surfaces of the lens are curved inward, it is known as a biconcave lens. The image formed by the concave lens will be always virtual and erect.
❍ Uses: Telescopes, spectacles etc.
Applications of concave lens are :-
1. In spectacles for eyes suffering from myopia.
2. In the lens combination of camera, telescope.
3. In door hole lenses.
Applications of concave mirror:
1. Concave mirrors are used as make up or as shaving mirrors.
2.These mirrors are used by dentists to see enlarged image of tooth.
3.These are used in telescopes, Headlights of vehicles etc
Hope you understand it now!!:))
