A nation state, is a state where only people of single nation have collective rights, and minorities have only personal rights in that country.
National rights, include state symbols, selective immigration where legal immigrants, majority citizens, official calendar, holidays, language, culture, religion and more, are of one single nation.
Personal rights, include free speech, the freedom of worship, freedom of organization or protest, equality before law etc. Personal rights however, do not include to enforce minorities religion or language as legally binding the majority.
Other states, may have two, or more nationalities, held in the same status. These are called bi-national or multi-national countries. Members of different nations may have personal rights, but not collective rights.
