Scalar -:

Those physical quantities which do not have the directions but have the magnitude is regarded as the scalar quantity or Scalar.

For example-

If we say that the mass of the body is 5 kg, then this term has the complete meanings both in the numerical value and the units.
Thus, the two parameters are required to express the scalar quantity completely. They are ,
1. Numerical Value.
2. Unit.

Thus, Scalar Quantity = Numerical Value × Unit.

[Note ⇒ If the Scalar is the pure number (ex. Pie,) then it have no unit.]

Examples of the scalar quantities

Speed, Distance, Volume, Mass, Temperature, Power, Energy and Time.

The opposite of the Scalar is the Vector quantities. Vectors quantities are those quantities which have both the magnitudes and the direction.

Hope it helps.

Answer:

Scalar quantity can never be zero in it only magnitude maters It don't have directions

eg speed, distance, power, energy.
