Definition:

*Solid: Solid is one of the four fundamental states of matter. The molecules in a solid are closely packed together and contain the least amount of kinetic energy. A solid is characterized by structural rigidity and resistance to a force applied to the surface.

*liquid: A liquid is a nearly incompressible fluid that conforms to the shape of its container but retains a constant volume independent of pressure. As such, it is one of the four fundamental states of matter, and is the only state with a definite volume but no fixed shape.

*Gas: Gas is one of the four fundamental states of matter. A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms, elemental molecules made from one type of atom, or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms. A gas mixture, such as air, contains a variety of pure gases.

Answer:

(a) Solid- A solid is that state of matter which has a fixed shape, mass and volume. it surfaces very small change in volume. it changing the temperature.it cannot be compressed

e. g- Ice ,sugar ,salt,glass, table,

(b) Liquid - It has a definite mass and volume but lacks a shape of its own. it take up the shape of the containing vessels. it can be compressed to an extents.

e. g- Water, milk. ink,

(c) Gas- it is a state of matter which has only definite mass but on definite shape and volume.it takes up the container

e. g- Carbon dioxide, oxygen, etc.
