Units Of Charge

Units of charge are Coulombs and Ampere–second.

Coulomb is the standard unit of charge. One Coulomb of charge is equal to electrons or protons. One electron is equal to Coulombs.

The other unit Ampere–second is extracted from current formula as

I = dq/dt

so dq =I×dt

ampere -second

Answer:

unit charge:- 1) The charge on an electron is so small that

it is not convenient to select it as the unit

unit of charge .

2) In practice coulomb is used as the unit of

charge .

1coulomb= 625×10^16 electrons

3) Thus when we say that a body has a +ve

charge of 1coulomb , it means that it has a

deficit of 625×10^16 electron from the

normal due share
