Absolute poverty is a state in of poverty in which a person may not be able to afford the basic living level i.e. basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing.
In contrast, relative poverty is a concept which is used to define the relative deprivation of resources in life.
It is also a measure of poverty and refers to people or groups that do not have the basic resources as compared to other members of a society in which they belong.
