Acceleration:

The rate of change of velocity of an object with respect to time is known as acceleration.

i.e.

  • Acceleration = \dfrac{Change\:in\: velocity}{Time\:taken}

Velocity is measured in m/s

Time measured in s (sec)

So,

  • S.I. unit of acceleration = m/s²

  • Types of acceleration :

» Positive acceleration

» Negative acceleration

» Zero acceleration

  • Dimension :

Dimension for velocity is LT-¹

Dimension for time is T

So,

Dimension of acceleration is LT-²

  • It is a vector quantity. As it has both magnitude and direction.

\huge\underline\mathfrak{Acceleration}

Acceleration is the rate of Change of velocity.

______________________________

Mathematical formula :

Acceleration = (change in velocity)/time

a = (v-u)/t

where,

a is Acceleration

v is final velocity

u is initial velocity

t is time

__________________________

S.I unit :

It is metres per second square ( m/s² ).

It is depend upon the units of velocity and time.

Types :

There are three types of acceleration :

☑️ Positive acceleration

☑️ Negative acceleration ( retardation )

☑️ Zero acceleration
