Acceleration is defined as the rate of the change in the velocity. The S.I. unit of the acceleration is ms⁻².
The Dimension of the acceleration is [a] = LT⁻¹/T
= LT⁻²
Acceleration is the vector quantity. It means that it has both the magnitudes and direction.
The Formula to calculate the acceleration is ⇒
where, a is the acceleration, v is the final velocity and u is the initial velocity.
The acceleration is of two types,
1. Uniform Acceleration ⇒ In uniform acceleration the rate of the change of the velocity is uniform with respect to the time.
2. Non uniform Acceleration ⇒ In non-uniform acceleration, the rate of the change in the velocity is not uniform, i.e. it is variable with respect to the time.
Hope it helps.

⏩Acceleration means the change in the velocity per unit time.
⏩A body is said to be accelerated if its velocity is increased or decreased.
⏩Acceleration only takes place if the velocity changes.
⏩If the velocity of the body increases with time, then body is positively accelerated.
