In uniform motion the velocity remains constant with time. thus the change in velocity for any time interval is zero.But in non uniform motion velocity changes with time .

In non uniform motion a new physical quantity called acceleration is used .The rate of change of velocity of moving body with is called acceleration .

Its SI unit is meter per second .

It can be negative positive or zero.
