Change in velocity per unit time is known as acceleration .
a = v-u / t
It is a vector quantity
It's SI unit is m/s²
There are two types of acceleration Negative and positive .
The acceleration in which the final velocity is more than initial velocity is positive acceleration.
The acceleration in which final velocity is less than initial velocity is negative acceleration
