What is acceleration due to gravity?

Gravity is a force which is created by rotation of planets; it helps the planets to hold the objects itself which are on his outer surface. However it is said that gravity of Earth is 9.81 m/s2, it may slightly differ from place to place as per their inner mass.

Acceleration due to gravity is also considered as gravity(G)

The following formula is used for calculating acceleration due to gravity of planets.

g = GM/r2

G=6.673X10^-11 (Nm2/Kg2)

M= mass of the planets (For example, mass of the earth is 5.972X 10^24 Kg)

r = Radius of the planets (For example, Radius of the earth is 6371000 m)

Hence,

g= ((6.673X10^-11) X(5.972X 10^24)/( 6371000^2)

g = 9.81 m/s2
