the rate of change in velocity of any object is known as accelaration
if an body is moving with uniform velocity then the accl. will be 0m/s^2

Ex: a car moving with a uniform speed on a straight road. Case2) if the direction of the body under consideration is changing continuously even though the magnitude of velocity is same, then the body is under some acceleration (ie. ... If velocity is constant(uniform) its rate of change is zero, hence acceleration is zero.
