- chemical substances like No2 and So2 mixes with the moisture present in atmosphere . so when precipitation occurs these oxides react with water and cause acidic rain
- when ph of rain water goes below 5.6 , then it is known as acid rain
effects
- it damages monument and building
- it contaminate with which are harmful for aquatic animals. it lowers the ph of water thus making difficult to survive for aquatic animals
- it also destroys crop and agricultural fields
