Additive Identity is the number which when added to a number returns back the same number. Only zero can satisfy this condition. So, zero is called as the additive Identity.

Example - 2+0 = 2 ( Same number obtained)

Additive inverse is the number which when added to a number gives the sum as zero. The additive inverse of any number can be obtained by multiplying it by -1.

Example - Additive inverse of 3 would be -3

Verification - 3+(-3) = 0

Hence proved !

{\textbf{Answer}}

Additive Inverse: For any non-zero rational number (a / b) , there exists a unique number (-a / b) .

Additive Identity: When 0 is added to any rational no.,the same rational no. is obtained.

Thus, 0 is the additive identity of rational numbers.
