When oxygen is available, glucose is completely oxidised to produce carbon dioxide, water and 38 molecules of ATP. This is called aerobic respiration and it occurs mostly in all animals and plants.

The equation for this process is :-

Glucose + Oxygen —> Carbon Dioxide + Water + 38 ATP.

Full form of ATP is Adenosine triphosphate.
